Railways to introduce three special trains in summer

Patna: The railways has announced to operate three additional pairs of special trains on key routes to check heavy passenger rush and demand during peak summer, connecting northern and eastern parts of the country with Bihar and southern India. These special services will run on the New Delhi–Supaul, Anand Vihar–Jogbani and Saharsa–Yeshwantpur routes.According to ECR’s chief public relations officer ( CPRO ) Saraswati Chandra, the New Delhi–Supaul special has been put into operation daily from April 17. “The special train is running via key stations including Saharsa, Barauni, Shahpur Patori, Hajipur, Ballia, Ghazipur and Varanasi route. However, services of the special train will remain suspended between May 21 and May 25”, he said.Similarly, Anand Vihar–Jogbani special will run between April 18 and July 11, except on May 23. The Saharsa–Yeshwantpur special has been introduced from April 16. The train will run on April 23 and April 30, he said adding the special train will run via Kiul, Jhajha, Asansol, Kharagpur, Bhubaneswar and Visakhapatnam.According to CPRO , these special trains are aimed at managing the seasonal surge in passenger traffic and providing additional travel options during the peak summer period connecting Bihar from far off places .
